To advance your career to the doctoral level the Post-BSN DNP is available for all specialty tracks offered in our MSN programs.

The Post-BSN DNP is now open for all advanced practice specialty areas. Choose to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult/Gerontology Acute and/or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Acute and/or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Midwife. The Post-BSN DNP program prepares graduates to sit for credentialing examinations. Please refer to the MSN Program websites for further information about the specialty areas and watch for new plans of study for full and part time attendance.

Emory University is seeking highly qualified and developing nurse leaders for its Post-BSN Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. 

Requirements for Post-BSN DNP admission include:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, NLNAC)
  • Unencumbered RN license in the state of Georgia
  • The average GPA for admitted Post-BSN DNP student is 3.5
  • Students are encouraged to submit GRE test scores that fall within the 50th-99th percentile of all test takers
    The GRE requirement may be waived for applicants meeting at least ONE of the following criteria**:
    • GPA greater than or equal to a 3.5 from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
    • Previous master’s degree (or higher) completed from an accredited college or university+
    **It is at the discretion of the Admission Committees to request test scores despite meeting GRE waiver.

*** Health insurance is required for all students. You will be billed automatically for the university’s student health insurance plan if you do not provide proof of adequate coverage by another insurer. 

Cost of Attendance

The cost of attendance budget is considered sufficient to support a basic lifestyle for a single student. It does not include expenses for dependents, travel, vacations, or luxury items such as automobiles, household furniture, or appliances. The estimated cost of attendance for 2017-2018 for a full time (12+ semester hours) DNP student enrolled for fall, spring and summer semesters is $89,932. This is not the amount you will owe. The cost of attendance is not the amount you will pay for the year. The cost of attendance is the budget used to determine the financial aid amount offered each year and is more than a student's full time tuition and fees to provide assistance for living expenses if needed.

Interested in becoming a full-time faculty member after graduating?  The Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) may be right for you.  Eligible students can receive up to $35,000 NFLP loan support per academic year (for up to five years)  to cover the costs of tuition, books, fees and educational expenses.

 Partial NFLP loan forgiveness (up to 85%) over a consecutive four-year period in exchange for serving as full-time nursing faculty at an accredited School of Nursing

  • 20% forgiveness Year 1, 20% forgiveness Year 2, 20% forgiveness Year 3, 25% forgiveness Year 4
  • If borrower fails to fulfill teaching commitment, loan interest accrues at prevailing market rate
