Dr Abebe Gebremariam started his career in remote health centers in Ethiopia where he served as a general practitioner before being promoted to become a district health officer and later a regional head of health care programming division.

Dr Abebe who has also served as an academician in Debub University for two years, have worked in various projects of Save the Children USA offices located in Ethiopia, South Sudan and Malawi in the capacities of program manager, senior health advisor and senior manager for a total of 8 years.

Dr Abebe was engaged in the first MaNHEP project implemented in the Amhara and Oromia regions in the capacity of project director and co-principal investigator. He retains the same position in the current project where he provides overall leadership and vision, and direct the strategic planning, development and implementation of the program.
