2018 Commencement

Graduation 2016

We are looking forward to seeing you at Emory University's Commencement on Monday, May 14th!

Commencement activities begin on Wednesday, May 9th. Both School of Nursing and major Emory University events are listed on this website. For a full list of Emory University events, please visit the university's main commencement website here. Click here to download our "Commencement at a Glance" calendar.

When booking your travel, it is helpful to know that the majority of graduation receptions and ceremonies open to family and guests are on Saturday, May 12 and Monday, May 14. We recommend avoiding early afternoon return travel on Monday (evening travel is better) in case ceremonies are delayed because of weather.

We recommend you visit this site frequently for event updates as details are subject to change throughout the spring semester.

At Emory, BSN graduates wear a cap, gown and tassel and MSN graduates wear a cap, gown, hood, and tassel. All gowns are black except Emory’s custom doctoral robes which are Emory blue and gold. All hoods and PhD or DNP robes feature the color of the discipline traditionally designated for the degree the student earned. Students who earn dual degrees should wear the discipline color for the ceremony in which they will participate. When students purchase regalia, they should be sure of and specify exactly which degree they are earning. For additional information about Commencement regalia, click here
