You are invited to submit an abstract for a concurrent oral session or poster presentation. Appropriate projects should reflect the conference purpose and pertain to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, or nursing research in clinical healthcare settings. Both novice and expert nurses are encouraged to submit work.


All presenters must register for the conference. Presenters are expected to assume costs related to travel, accommodations, and registration.

Projects Research studies, evidence-based practice projects, and quality improvement projects will be considered.Projects previously presented in other venues and/or previously published may be submitted. More than one abstract per agency or author may be submitted.

Review of Submission 

All abstracts will be reviewed and selected by a peer-review committee.
  • Oral Presentations: Only completed projects will be considered for oral presentations. Selections will be made by the review committee.
  • Poster Presentations: Poster presentations may include projects that are completed or in process. Student work will be considered for poster presentations only.

Guidelines for Submission

All abstracts should be submitted as an attachment to the following email address: NursingResearch@choa.org

First Page

  • Name, credentials, email address, phone number, institutional affiliation, preferred format
    (choose only poster OR either podium or poster)
  • 150 word introduction if applying for oral presentation
  • Abstract title
  • Type of abstract (Research study, EBP, QI, or Innovation)
  • Stage of the work (completed or in progress)

Second page: Body of abstract

  • The body of the abstract text is limited to 300 words or less. The body of the abstract must include the
    following subheadings:
  • Title
  • Introduction/Background (with a clear purpose statement)
  • No author/facility identifying information should be included in the abstract
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

Subheadings may be adapted to conform to project methodology (e.g. innovation, LEAN)

Include no more than four references (not to be included in word count)

Please join us as we explore the results of clinical inquiry including nursing research, quality improvement, innovation, and evidence-based practice changes to empower nurses to lead health care transformation.

This conference is an excellent opportunity for Clinical Nurses, Nursing Leaders, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Nurse Educators, Nurse Scientists, Interprofessional Partners, and Health Professional and Nursing Students to interact with expert faculty and their peers while earning CE credits.
