About
Haerim Lee is a Ph.D. candidate and has been trained to study oncology symptom science. Her former training focused on biobehavioral mechanisms underlying chronic illness or symptoms among adults during a master's program. She earned her MSN (2017) with her thesis addressing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, self-management, and nutritional status among gynecologic cancer patients and BSN (2012) with a top honor (summa cum laude) at Seoul National University in South Korea. She was clinically trained in the Gynecology and Oncology unit at Asan Medical Center, South Korea. Her program of research seeks to understand biological, psychobehavioral, and sociocultural mechanisms underlying patient-reported outcomes during cancer survivorship and to improve cancer-and treatment-related symptoms and quality of life among cancer survivors, particularly women with gynecologic cancer.

Research
Her research interests primarily lie in the area of oncology symptom science, focusing on patient-reported outcomes during cancer survivorship and biobehavioral (e.g., obesity, nutrition, and the gut microbiome) and psychosocial (e.g., social determinants of health and cultural context) mechanisms underlying cancer-and treatment-related symptoms. Other interests include sexual health of cancer survivors, health disparities, and women's health.
