About
Dr. Erica Moore, CRNA, APRN is an assistant professor and assistant program director of the nurse anesthesia program. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the School of Nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in nurse anesthesia from the University of Alabama/Birmingham, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chatham University.
In addition to her impressive academic background, Dr. Moore maintains an active clinical practice, ensuring that her teaching is informed by real-world experience. She is deeply committed to promoting diversity in the field of nurse anesthesia and serves as an active member and advocate for the Diversity Nurse Anesthesia Mentorship Program.
Dr. Moore's contributions extend beyond the classroom. She is an engaged member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesia (AANA), where she serves on the Faculty Stabilization Task Force Advisory Board. Locally, she is involved with the Georgia Association of Nurse Anesthesia (GANA), having served on the public relations committee and as a board director.
An inspiring mentor, Dr. Moore is dedicated to fostering the next generation of nursing professionals. She actively participates in mentoring programs such as the Fellowship in Nursing Development (FIND) program and the LatinX in Nursing Development (LAND) program.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, Dr. Moore is the proud recipient of the 2023 Provost Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award. Her commitment to guiding and supporting students is encapsulated in her guiding philosophy: "You can't be what you can't see." As a scholar, Dr. Moore focuses on research geared toward the recruitment and retention of clinicians entering academia, aiming to make a lasting impact on the future of nurse anesthesia education.
