About

SeJung Kwon, PhD, is a Learning Systems Scientist and an Assistant Professor, research track, in the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. Dr. Kwon earned her MEd and PhD degrees in Learning, Design, and Technology from the University of Georgia Mary Frances Early College of Education and completed her postdoctoral training at UGA and Emory University.

Dr. Kwon played one of the core members of Research and Innovation in Learning (RAIL, an interdisciplinary research lab) at UGA and participated in the Translational Workforce Development (TWD) Core of the NIH-funded Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA) for six years. 

Dr. Kwon's research focuses on investigating effective ways of enhancing problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a particular emphasis on enhancing clinical reasoning and emotional regulation among health professionals. She has applied advanced technologies, including Virtual Reality (VR), biofeedback, and data science, in conjunction with cognitive analysis and bio-pedagogical analytics, to design and develop innovative pedagogical solutions. Within her research focus, she has engaged in nursing and health professions education research aimed at elevating expertise and professional identity.

Dr. Kwon is a faculty member of the Center for Data Science at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and a core faculty member at the CDC-funded Injury Prevention Research Center at Emory (IPRCE).
