ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER INTEGRATED SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TRAINING PROGRAM (APP-ISTP)
The primary goals of this program are to:
- Advance fellows into autonomous clinicians with comprehensive and therapeutic knowledge in caring for people with substance use disorders.
- Position fellows to be prepared for the workforce for their desired career goals, especially in primary/care substance use disorder.
Required qualifications (students are not eligible):
- LCSW applicants must hold a MSN or higher in social work.
- Applicants must hold or be eligible for LCSW licensure in GA.
- Candidates must also present evidence of experience or interest in primary care and substance use disorders, leadership and practice.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA from accredited program.
- Willing to travel and stay overnight in cities where clinical sites are located.
- Willing to attend any live class or workshop (scheduled in advance).
All applicants must submit:
- An up-to-date CV/Resume.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation (500 words or less) from persons knowing the applicant's passion for integrated care, mental health care, and substance use disorder.*NOTE: One of your recommendation letters must come from your clinical supervisor or academic mentor.
- A personal statement (no more than 1000 words that identifies the applicant's areas of interest in inter-professional team-based care, SUDs, and primary prevention; and outlines career goals to be achieved through the traineeship, and a proposed implementation plan, commitment/importance to SUD, community engagement and work in underserved areas.)
- Uploaded copy of transcripts.
- A letter of support from the employer stating approval for the applicant to complete program clinical requirements (500 words or less)
