The School of Nursing Diploma, Pinning, and Awards Ceremony is open to all students who have been cleared to graduate. Participation in this ceremony is encouraged, but it is not mandatory. 

Location & Time 

• Location: Emory Student Center
• Date:  Monday, May 12
• Ceremony Begins: 11 a.m.‍
• Doors Open: Doors will open one hour prior to the ceremony start time 
• Reception: A reception will take place immediately following the ceremony at the School of Nursing's Courtyard
  • Tickets are not required for the reception. All graduate guests are welcome to attend.

Student Lineup 

Students are required to line up at one hour prior to the ceremony start time. Line up location: TBD

Important Requirements

All graduates are required to update their diploma address and submit any name changes.

All diplomas will be mailed to the diploma address indicated on OPUS. Please take the time to review the following information:

• ‍Diploma Mailing Address: Be sure to review and, if necessary, update your Diploma Mailing Address in OPUS. This is important for making sure that you receive your diploma in a timely manner.‍
• Diploma Email Address: Be sure to navigate to your email addresses and ensure we have a non-Emory email address for you by adding a “Diploma” Email Address.
• Be sure to review your name in OPUS. Your name as it appears in OPUS will be the name printed on your diploma.
• The deadline to submit a name change form is February 28, 2025.

Each graduate will be allotted four (4) guest tickets. Graduating students will not need a ticket. Ticket quantity is determined by venue capacity and number of graduates.

If you do need extra tickets, please consult with your peers to find out if anyone may not be participating in the ceremony or will not be using all of their tickets.

If you have more guests than the allotted tickets, please encourage them to attend the livestream viewing at the School of Nursing in the P01 Auditorium. We are also exploring an additional livestream option closer to the Student Center, and we will provide an update if it becomes available.

Regalia Ordering

BSN, MSN/MN regalia is still available to purchase at the bookstore on a first-come, first-serve basis. Orders for this regalia can also be placed at the link above until 3/31/25 under the "Home Delivery" option. (The Home Delivery link is technically open until 4/9/25, but orders placed in April will arrive almost on Commencement Day itself, and are therefore not recommended. Orders placed in March are estimated to have a two-week turnaround.)

DNP regalia must be ordered using the link above, under Home Delivery, and is not available in the bookstore.

Ordering Deadlines:

• April 9, 2025: Absolute last day to order regalia online at all for Bachelors, Masters, MD, DPT, DNP. Note that orders placed online for these degrees between 3/31 and 4/9 may arrive only days before the ceremony - ordering this late is not recommended.
• April 18, 2025: Rental Regalia Pickups from online orders become available on the second floor of the bookstore
• May 19, 2025: Rental Regalia due back to the bookstore by this date

As always, the bookstore will sell bachelors, masters, and MD regalia between now and the day of Commencement. However, we cannot guarantee the ability to restock a size that runs out after 3/2/25, so it is recommended to shop as soon as possible.

Attire 

All graduates are required to wear business casual clothing under their regalia. Flat shoes are recommended.

Your recommended parking deck is Michael Street located at 550 Rollins Way. The Diploma Ceremony reception will be held back at the School of Nursing (SON)following the ceremony. We recommend parking in Michael Street if you plan to end your day with us at the reception. There will be six (6) shuttles marked “M” or “Michael Street” that will run continuously between the Michael Street deck and Asbury Circle. The drop off location is a short distance from the student center. When the ceremony ends, the “M” shuttle will return guests to the Michael Street Deck for the SON Diploma Ceremony reception.

Photography

A photographer will be on site to take photos of each graduate after they receive their diploma cover and stole. Event photos will be available for download on this website a few weeks after the event.
