What is STTI?
Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) offers membership by invitation to baccalaureate undergraduate and graduate nursing students and to baccalaureate-prepared nursing leaders. The Alpha Epsilon Chapter of STTI was chartered in 1964. Our chapter exemplifies the STTI mission of advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. In particular, this chapter is committed to supporting Emory initiatives in nursing research and to promoting excellence in local, national, and global nursing leadership.

Elevating the Nursing Profession
At STTI, we are a community of nurses who strive to position the nursing profession at the forefront of health care by promoting scholarship, research, and leadership. As a member, your involvement can flourish into a dynamic collaboration that is renewed throughout your lifetime. Through STTI, we challenge you to be a better nurse and support your career with an array of tools, programs, and people that are unequaled anywhere in the health care industry.
Membership is offered to students enrolled in pre-licensure programs at accredited institutions of higher education who have completed at least ½ of the nursing curriculum, have achieved a minimum of 3.5 cumulative GPA, and are ranked in the upper 35% of their class cohort.
Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and PhD students are eligible for membership if they are enrolled in programs at accredited institutions of higher education, have completed at least ¼ of their program’s curriculum, and have achieved a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Students in the Master of Cardiovascular Perfusion and Master of Clinical Nutrition programs may apply for membership in STTI if they are also nurses.
Registered Nurses, who are legally recognized to practice in their countries and hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing, may apply for membership in STTI. Demonstrated experience and achievement in leadership positions in nursing practice, education, or administration since graduation are important aspects for candidacy, as is community service.
